Yamaha is celebrating World Hearing Day (3 March) with the launch of its new true wireless earbuds which is touted to offer realistic audio performance even at low volumes.
Built with the brand’s “True Sound” ethos in mind, the TW-E5B features Yamaha’s proprietary Listening Care technology which is designed to protect the long-term hearing health of its listeners.
Listening Care works by adjusting the difficult-to-hear high and low frequencies so that the original tonal balance of the music is maintained. Users no longer need to crank up the volume to hear every note, a practice that damages hearing health in the long run.
Each earbud features a 7mm driver unit that is housed on the same axis as the nozzle where the sound exits, eliminating any obstacles and interference that might muddy performance. The result, claims Yamaha, is an audio experience that retains realism, detail and clarity regardless of volume.
“As a musical instrument manufacturer, Yamaha has a strong connection with a wide range of customers, from music creators to music listeners. It has become one of our social responsibilities to ensure our customers can enjoy music for many years to come,” said Yoshi Tsugawa, the senior general manager of Yamaha’s home audio division.
Available in blue, brown, black and gray, the TW-E5B offers a respectable 8.5 hours of playtime, with an extra 21.5-hours of battery life stored in the charging case. The buds also feature Qualcomm’s cVc (Clear Voice Capture) technology for clear voice calls, making it ideal for remote working situations.
The inclusion of a gaming mode helps reduce lag between sound and video when watching videos or playing games, and the TW-E5B’s IPX5 water resistant rating means that you can sweat it out with the buds without any fear of damage. Users who like tinkering with equalisers can also make use of the Custom EQ setting on the Yamaha Headphone Control App.
Retailing at £129.99, the TW-E5B will be available on the Yamaha site starting this April.
